    St. Patrick's Award

St. Patrick is our Patron Saint and the person for whom our celebration is named. There were many facets of St. Patrick. He was a slave in a foreign land who managed to obtain his release. He was a Priest of the Church who ministered to those who needed him most. He was a Bishop who shepherded his flock from the perils of paganism to the security of Christianity. He is an enduring symbol of starting at the bottom, rising to the top, and bringing multitudes along with him.

The St. Patrick Award is presented each year to the entry best depicting the “Spirit of St. Patrick.”

This Irish Pub’s Design Avoids Tropes and Leans Into History - Plate Magazine

Irish pubs are a dime a dozen stateside, but few have connections to the Emerald Isle itself. In August 2024, Wexford opened in Savannah, Ga.’s City Market, bringing with it contributions from the namesake sister city and honoring the coastal city’s Irish roots. The first Irish immigrants arrived in Savannah in 1734 and their community grew during the Irish Potato Famine. Caroline Eubanks - 09/25/24
